ACORN Courses

advance education for the global workforce.

Advanced Career Online Resource Network—ACORN for short—provides online courses to allied health professionals and other learners around the globe. All ACORN courses are accredited for Continuing Education Units (CEUs). A CEU is a measure used in continuing education programs to quantify the time spent during professional development activities. CEUs for each ACORN course are listed on the course webpage. To earn CEUs, learners need to 1) attend all course sessions and complete all required course activities and 2) complete the course evaluation survey. A certificate of attendance and CEUs will provided upon course completion and the receipt of evaluation survey responses.

ACORN provides

both synchronous and asynchronous courses.

Synchronous courses are conducted in real time, with instructors holding virtual meetings at specified dates and times. Asynchronous courses are self-paced and entail pre-recorded video clips, readings, quizzes, and other activities that learners may complete at their convenience. Course webpages indicate whether each course is synchronous or asynchronous.
